Thinking Aloud About Passive Income

Drop Shipping Business – Affiliate Marketing – Both

So, I am sure you all had this happen to you at one point or another. You are looking for anything, let’s say refrigerators, you search on your PC, you search on your phone, iPad, or wherever, and all of a sudden you get all kinds of ads for refrigerators. Happens with just about anything, right, heck as I have been thinking and searching about starting a business, such as a drop shipping or affiliate marketing opportunities, I have come across so many ads about each one and companies to help you grow each type of business. Ads on how to grow your business, how to market your business, how to drive visitors to your sire, and so on. So, I have been sifting through all that and trying to review a few of the ads and see how they could possibly help me get started. Of course, as with anything, there are websites out there that talk about the legitimacy of the company, and once again you have to read through it and gather as much information as you can to at least have the opportunity to be successful. I don’t or no one does, want to go into something half-blind or half-cocked and end up giving up before a chance was even given. I do believe that these opportunities are legit, and getting into them nowadays seems extremely easy, but making it work or run correctly is the goal because, like many out there, that are going to rough times, especially with this darn pandemic, we want to work on something that is ours, that will allow us to have more free time and not just work week to week for a paycheck. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a hard-working individual, but I am sure I am not alone when I say this, but man I want to breathe, and at my age, I want to enjoy life a little without being concern about not being able to. Life is tough enough that we don’t need to add more stress or pressure, but I think something or one of these opportunities might be the trick. Now, I still have a ways to be a grand kids – hopefully – so i want to be able to spoil them and help out my kids, something I did not have.

The thing is after researching, thinking for some time, and looking into several models, I think it is time for me to put a plan together, ask what these businesses can offer and how they can help get me started. So, I will put together a journal or something, and start by reaching out to these companies such as Shopify, AliDropShip, and a few others that offer these same services. Document what they offer and determine which one gives more bang for a buck. I will then start documenting the different ways to market my business, the different options because there is a lot of companies out there offering services, ways to drive revenue up, drive traffic, of course, all for a nominal fee – such as Thryv, Silver City Marketing, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads (formally know as Bing), and of course many more. Also, other companies related to eCommerce businesses such as SellerVue, Dropship Tribe, Magic Audiences, Word Agents, Studio Hawk, Skup, Thrive Themes, Build Grow Scale, and so many more – it is crazy.

As you can see, I use WordPress and I just recently found out that there was an app called Auto Affiliate Links, which helps you manage your affiliate links into your WordPress site, of course once again for a nominal fee, which I believe is a one-time fee of $89 – now I was just looking and I could not see a price, but I am pretty sure I saw it somewhere. Anyways, this option, of course, works if you have the Business Level WordPress plan. I mean if you want any plug-ins in WordPress, you need a business plan. I was thinking, I have already several affiliate connections and I thought maybe this would be one way to create a road of passive income to the blog I currently have– right. I have another site that has affiliate links but I have always had trouble driving traffic to it, well that is a separate topic.  So, adding this app to my blog is one way to get started on creating a venue for passive income, that is what I was thinking. Now, as for the drop shipping business I need to investigate a few businesses and see if one of them can get me mostly set up to start selling within a few days. Besides getting the right products, I think the next thing to worry about is payment processing, and then confirm if once the customer orders from your site does it go directly to the vendor, or do you need to do this piece yourself. I am sure if I needed to do this myself, you know, click here click there to get the product to the customer, there has to be an App for it – right.

I am going to weigh each option, compare the pricing, options, services, and benefits of each, and see if one can set me up to be able to start making money sooner rather than later. I would also like to be able to add multiple products from other companies such as supplements, or maybe add coffee products, maybe marvel, and so on. I want to be able to offer as many products as possible. Now, I was thinking that maybe if I use social media to market, I can purchase the products myself and create videos on opening the packaging, display the product and talk about how it works – maybe this would also be part of my marketing campaign – not sure yet thinking aloud. The thing is I want to document every piece of the business and make sure I have a plan set in place that will allow me to grow fairly quickly, not overnight of course but at least within the next 12 months – yeah that is my goal – 12 months to build it to the point that it replaces what I make right now from my current job. I could see it being successful, I could see myself smiling one day saying to my wife that she doesn’t need to work anymore and that we got this. I think that would be a great surprise, so now it is just a matter of me getting to it and start documenting the plan. Let’s see where my thoughts take me, let’s see if this is the time for me to move forward. I don’t know, I could simply just drop the ball. Either way I will be sure to keep you posted, it might take a while as I put together the plan – you know like a business plan I guess – hmm interesting.

There is always an option

Thanks for reading and once again I want to leave you with this thought, “It is never too late to start something new, and don’t feel bad if you do or don’t. Just remember whatever energy you had in mind, apply it to the idea and run with it – best of luck to you”.

Strange but true, I was born in San Salvador, as an abroad US citizen. It sounds strange, but you see, my mother was 5 months pregnant and happen to be visiting San Salvador. She slipped and fell in a pool and well, I was born. I am a twin, but unfortunately, he did not make and I did. My mother’s side of the family happens to be well of, and I had the opportunity to live a nice life early in my childhood. You know, private school, servant, nice home, and vacations. Things change when my mother decided to follow my father to the United States and well, that is where my story begins. I started a blog a while back, but life sort of hit and I left it behind, but now as I am a bit older, I decided I needed an avenue to share my experiences with others, while at the same time allowing me to open up and talk like I am on someone’s couch, I guess you could say. This blog will be more like an open book, created by experiences that I have had throughout my life. Experiences that many could relate to and what I did or how I handled it, you know after the fact. You never know there just might be a piece of information, idea, an option that someone could use and it would help them through the experience. Just remember these are my experiences, things I have been through, work through, and lived through – it does not mean I am right, but it does not mean I am wrong – it is simply an experience.
