Why I have Posted in A While

I just wanted to share a post today to quickly talk about why I haven’t posted in such a long time. I actually felt sad because this is the only outlet, I have to express myself or communicate in some matter. So, it has been a struggle, but let me tell you why. I might get a bit detailed, so I apologize in advance.

So, on Thursday, January 13th my wife received some news that one of the kids in the daycare came in close contact with someone with COVID. Now, keep in mind this is the first case that has happened at her daycare since this all started back in 2020. She has been able to keep the kids as well as the parents healthy and has kept COVID at bay. But in November she got new parents, and unfortunately, they really did not know all the rules that my wife along with the parents put in place to keep everyone safe.

The new father received a call from his work on the evening of Wednesday, January 12th letting him know that he came in close contact with someone that had COVID and that he should test for COVID. He did but did not get the results until late in the afternoon on Thursday, January 13th. Well unfortunately he was not thinking and brought his child to the daycare on Thursday, January 13th. That same Thursday evening he contacted my wife letting her know that he Tested positive for COVID, but he had no systems. Well later that night on the 13th, he called my wife back to confirm that his kid tested positive for COVID.

My wife had to contact all the parents that Thursday evening to let them know what had happened and that she was going ahead and close the daycare on Friday. She asked all the parents to get COVID tested along with the kids. The good thing was that it happened to be a long weekend, so she actually closed for 4 full days. The good news was that only one other kid in the daycare tested positive, but had no systems. Now, the reason I haven’t posted is coming up. You see my wife recently hired a new employee and has been here for about two months, well she contacted my wife on January 16 letting her know that she tested positive for COVID. Keep in mind she is fully vaccinated and has her booster, but she said she was not feeling good and was not going to come to work. With that, she has not shown up for work since January 13th. So of course, finding another employee is hard, trust what you see on the news about labor shortage because it is true, well maybe not labor shortage in our case, but trying to find someone to work at the daycare is tough. My wife does pay a dollar more than the minimum wage, trust me she doesn’t have to, but she does and even with that she can’t find anyone. The job is not tough, you only have to have patience, like to play games, and of course, change diapers. It does get noisy, but if you could be a fly on the wall, you would agree with me that it is not too difficult. So, that is where I come in. I have been helping around the daycare, in addition to working my full-time job, and that has left almost no time to write for my blog. It has been tough. I know you are asking yourself; I am cheating out my employer, but trust me I work more in two hours than people work in 8, only saying, but I don’t take advantage I do put in my 8 hours. I do jump back and forth and everything is running smoothly, but of course these cuts into my Blog time.

Anyhow, I wanted to take a moment and share a bit of my life this past couple of weeks. With that I leave you with this thought, “Life can get crazy and the things you like are placed on hold, but don’t worry, it’s ok, just start back up again, those that care will understand”.

Strange but true, I was born in San Salvador, as an abroad US citizen. It sounds strange, but you see, my mother was 5 months pregnant and happen to be visiting San Salvador. She slipped and fell in a pool and well, I was born. I am a twin, but unfortunately, he did not make and I did. My mother’s side of the family happens to be well of, and I had the opportunity to live a nice life early in my childhood. You know, private school, servant, nice home, and vacations. Things change when my mother decided to follow my father to the United States and well, that is where my story begins. I started a blog a while back, but life sort of hit and I left it behind, but now as I am a bit older, I decided I needed an avenue to share my experiences with others, while at the same time allowing me to open up and talk like I am on someone’s couch, I guess you could say. This blog will be more like an open book, created by experiences that I have had throughout my life. Experiences that many could relate to and what I did or how I handled it, you know after the fact. You never know there just might be a piece of information, idea, an option that someone could use and it would help them through the experience. Just remember these are my experiences, things I have been through, work through, and lived through – it does not mean I am right, but it does not mean I am wrong – it is simply an experience.
