Scared: Should I or Not?

-Drop Shipping Business-

I know – I know I have written several posts about starting a business, and the last time I was on the fence about starting a drop shipping business. The thing is I just can get myself to do it. I work 50 plus hours a week, and there are days I think I am just treading water. I know that starting a business could be the thing I need to get out of the rat race, but I just cannot get myself to push forward. I think what is really holding me back is the marketing piece. Now hear me out, I know that some companies like Alidropship offer a marketing package, and of course ever since I have been searching for a business opportunity, I have been getting a whole lot of ads on companies offering their marketing service – go figure. I know I could probably use one of those companies, but like a lot of people say in social media, it would be best for me to do it myself, it only takes a few hours a week. But does it really, only take a few hours a week. I know that may sound strange after I said that I work 50 plus hours a week, but the difference between the two things is I am getting a check now, and starting a business from the start will take some time to build an income that could match what I make now.

As I am looking and gathering information, I come to realize that if I decided to go with Alidropship, they offer a marketing package that sets you up with all the necessary ads, videos, content to create marketing campaigns. Plus, I know that I could integrate other products from other affiliates or businesses such or company products into my website – to offer more. I have read the process so many times, from different social media platforms on how drop shipping works, there are slight differences between each definition, but the main idea: a customer visits your site, places, and order, you get paid, the order goes to the wholesale company which they ship directly to your customer and the company takes their money from you. So definitely need to set up an account with enough money to cover the order, because I am assuming if the customer pays you, it goes to your bank account, and when the company takes their money for the product, they pull from either your bank account or a credit card – that should have a line of credit to cover costs because if 100 orders of $20 come in that would be $2000. So, I have to say that we need to make sure that the money is in the right place when it needs to be. Imagine 1000 orders of $20 that would be $20,000. I am sure that once the payment funnel is set up it will flow smoothly – I am assuming.

Decisions Decisions To Start a Business or Not

So, I see it like this, (1) customer orders a product, pays you $40 for a product, (2) it goes to your account, then (3) the order goes to the company (wholesaler – whatever this is called) (4) they pull money from you, say $20, then (5) they ship directly to the customer and the profit would be $20, sort of speaking – because I know there are costs involved to run the business, but this was a simple interpretation of what I think happens. The goal of course is to get to the point where you can simply maybe quit your 9-5 job and spend time with family and of course, invest in other things, maybe stocks, real estate, crypto, etc.

The thing I cannot get past is the marketing piece, where you need to let the world know about your online store or business, that is where I struggle. I get nervous, I don’t know how to explain it. I feel that I am a smart man, I am a hard worker, I believe I have the skills and dedication to do what is needed, I just can get out of the gate. I even came up with a business name, that sounds pretty dang good and even catchy – I think. I even thought about how the logo would look like – funny huh, but I just can get through that gate or off the fence, however, you want to see it.  I do believe that drop shipping would be my thing, and I am confident it would be successful, which could lead me to have more time with my family and invest in other things, grow, expand, build something. Oh well, I will probably keep thinking about this business idea, and struggle as I have, and maybe do nothing – I don’t know.

Well, I thank you once again for stopping by and reading the rambling of a man and I leave you with this thought, “Fear is not a bad thing, as long as you don’t allow it to take over your life”.

Strange but true, I was born in San Salvador, as an abroad US citizen. It sounds strange, but you see, my mother was 5 months pregnant and happen to be visiting San Salvador. She slipped and fell in a pool and well, I was born. I am a twin, but unfortunately, he did not make and I did. My mother’s side of the family happens to be well of, and I had the opportunity to live a nice life early in my childhood. You know, private school, servant, nice home, and vacations. Things change when my mother decided to follow my father to the United States and well, that is where my story begins. I started a blog a while back, but life sort of hit and I left it behind, but now as I am a bit older, I decided I needed an avenue to share my experiences with others, while at the same time allowing me to open up and talk like I am on someone’s couch, I guess you could say. This blog will be more like an open book, created by experiences that I have had throughout my life. Experiences that many could relate to and what I did or how I handled it, you know after the fact. You never know there just might be a piece of information, idea, an option that someone could use and it would help them through the experience. Just remember these are my experiences, things I have been through, work through, and lived through – it does not mean I am right, but it does not mean I am wrong – it is simply an experience.
