I decided to take the day off today from work, which I had planned about three weeks ago. The funny thing is that the company decided to give a 4-hour early departure which I missed of course because I used my PTO. Not a big deal, I have quite a bit of PTO and unfortunately, I have to take some time off since I am at that point that I can no longer accumulate hours, so I begin to lose PTO. Ok, wait it is not an unfortunate thing I took the day off, and of course, it is a 3-day weekend, so I get 4 days off, well sort of. I mean I did take the time off, but I am applying this time to my drop shipping business and of course my personal blog. I guess it really isn’t a day off for me.
So, regarding my drop shipping business, let me tell you, it is quite a bit of work keeping up the site. I know – I know I have only had one sale, and I am doing all this work. One of the things that takes time is keeping an eye on the products, stock availability, or if there is a variation of a product. Variations can affect of course what the customer sees on my site, and what is actually available. So, I need to make sure to keep on that otherwise, I have to let the customer know that what they ordered is no longer available and that is not a good look for any business, specifically for one like mine which is new, and not well known – like Amazon. You know, Amazon emails a customer they don’t have that item and it is ok most of the time, but for the little guy starting off, it can be bad. So, I spent this morning updating the products and removing those items no longer available or making updates to variations on other products, trust me it is work. Oh, and of course, quite a few items went up in price from the supplier, I mean it was pennies, but it made me realize that I need to, of course, continuously check on that so that it doesn’t begin to cut into my profits. A few items on my site I did increase the price unfortunately. Now, I did check other sites including Amazon and it seems there were changes as well in pricing to similar products. I usually like to compare pricing on Amazon and see how I can compete and still make a profit, not a whole lot, but you know something.
Now, I also decided, well maybe more a commitment to hunker down and write more on my blog (I have been slacking). In addition, I want to start converting my posts into audio as I have been talking about for some time now, but something or other has always takes up my time. I know – I know it really comes down to discipline and trust me, I am trying. The funny thing is that I do have a daily task/to-do list, but man there are days I just cannot stick to it, and I end up just lounging and the rest of the week just gets away from me.

As I was saying it has been hectic, and each day is a learning experience for me, whether it is learning more about SEO, backlink processes, key phrases or words, good content (I am learning), marketing, ad creation, google ads, I mean the list goes on. Of course, I am seriously learning all this on top of my 9-5 job and family life. I am doing my best and I am hoping that my hard work pays out sooner rather than later. There are days that I just want to run out onto the street screaming and just keep going. Almost like Forrest Gump and his journey across the country, where he just ran – yup just like there are days for me.
I just wanted to share a glimpse of my day, well maybe not the whole day, and not exactly everything, but just how hectic it can get with only a few things. I haven’t had any additional sales since that one that I mentioned I had, but I am hoping that my push today that I am working on, which is Facebook ads, Google ads, and one other method that I am trying that will help drive traffic to my site with the help of a company. I will share that experience with you as soon as it all gets going – it might be a few posts away.

Anyhow as always, I do appreciate you stopping by and taking some time away from your daily life to read my posts. With that, I leave you with this thought, “There are going to be days that seem to get out of hand, but I believe you can push through it, and get it done because afterward it will feel good – trust me.”
